Day 8: Birds and Narrow Waterways

Today we started very early with a concert at the Arctic Cathedral at 1:00 AM.  We took this photo from the Cathedral--looking back across the bay to our ship.  We got to sleep around 2:30 AM with the sun still shining.  We are both using sleeping masks.

We stopped at many small towns as usual, but today we focused more on the scenery and wildlife.  Mitzi's camera is totally awesome.  Check out this Oyster Catcher we found in the town of Stokmarknes.  The wildflowers were also great.

At 4:30 this afternoon we boarded a very small vessel that came along side our ship. We got on the Eagle sightseeing boat with out the M S Nordlys stopping.  It was wild.  We saw at least 7 eagles and lots of gulls.

We also watched our ship pass through an incredibly narrow  fjord.

Mitzi got this photo by putting her camera on the multiple shots mode.  We have ton more eagle photos, but we won't bore you with them.

We then got back on the big ship and sailed into Lofton Islands.

The good news is we can't get into email but can use the web. Mitzi is unable to work which
Connie thinks is great. It is fun to relax to the point we don't what the date is.
